This is a highly hands-on role focused on keeping the team organized, properly staffed, and operating efficiently each day. The Operations Manager will oversee daily workflow, employee scheduling, shipping operations, staffing, supplies, and general operational needs. This is not a desk-only management position. The right person must be willing to step in and work alongside the team , including assisting with sorting, packing, and shipping orders when business needs require additional support. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, solves problems quickly, and is comfortable switching between managing the team and jumping directly into the work.
Key Responsibilities Daily Operations:
Oversee day-to-day business operations and make sure priorities, staffing, and workflow are properly managed.
Team Management:
Provide hands-on leadership to employees, communicate daily priorities, monitor performance, and help keep the team productive and organized.
Scheduling & Coverage:
Create and publish weekly employee schedules and adjust staffing as business needs change.
Shipping Operations:
Oversee daily shipping and fulfillment operations to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
Hands-On Shipping Support:
Step in to sort, pick, pack, label, organize, and prepare customer orders whenever additional support is needed.
USPS Pickups & Drop-Offs:
Ensure outgoing shipments are picked up by USPS each day. If a scheduled pickup is missed or additional shipments need to go out, coordinate or personally assist with USPS drop-offs to ensure packages leave on time.
Shipping Priorities:
Monitor shipping volume and staffing to help maintain fast turnaround times, with a goal of shipping orders as quickly as possible.
Recruiting & Onboarding:
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees, particularly for shipping and fulfillment positions.
Weekly Programming:
: Create and coordinate weekly partner programming and post scheduled breaks.
Supplies & Inventory:
Monitor shipping, packaging, and office supplies and reorder items before inventory runs low.
Operational Problem Solving:
Handle day-to-day issues as they arise and make quick decisions to keep operations moving.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve organization, workflow, accuracy, and efficiency while keeping daily operations the first priority. What We're Looking For Strong organizational and time-management skills. Experience managing employees and coordinating schedules. Experience in shipping, fulfillment, warehouse operations, e-commerce, or a similar hands-on environment is preferred. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative without constant direction. Comfortable solving problems and making decisions in real time. Willingness to perform physical and hands-on operational work when needed. Comfortable working alongside employees rather than only supervising from a management level. Dependable and flexible as staffing and business needs change. Role Goal Keep the business running smoothly day to day by managing the team, staffing, shipping operations, schedules, supplies, and immediate operational needs. The Operations Manager should be someone who can lead the operation while also stepping in wherever needed to get the job done.
