Job Description

Poultney High School-Extracurricular Drama Coach / Theater Director- Poultney High school is seeking a Drama Coach. The Drama Coach

oversees all aspects of the middle/high school theatrical productions. This role involves mentoring students in acting, stagecraft, and production

management while fostering a safe, collaborative, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

    Production Management:

    Select appropriate plays or musicals, establish rehearsal schedules, and direct student performances

    (fall/spring shows).

      Instruction & Coaching:

      Teach fundamental acting techniques, vocal projection, stage presence, and character development.

        Stagecraft Coordination:

        Oversee set design, lighting, sound, costumes, and props—working alongside student crew members and

        volunteer staff.

          Student Supervision:

          Ensure a supportive, safe, and positive atmosphere during all rehearsals, auditions, and performances.

            Budget & Logistics:

            Manage the drama program budget, ticket sales, house management, and production logistics in coordination with

            school administration.

            Qualifications

            • Prior experience in directing, acting, or theater production preferred.
            • Strong passion for working with middle and high school students.
            • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

            $1,384 to $2,053 Stipend
