Do you enjoy teaching? Performance? Science!? The Science Guys is seeking a contract Lead Teacher for our summer camp at the Smithsonian to support our mission to inspire every child to love science! We are seeking someone who is energetic, playful, and passionate about both kids and science.
Schedule:
8 AM to 5 PM Monday -
Friday Pay:
$950/week past onboarding
Dates:
camp is running through August 14th
Responsibilities:
Our Lead Teacher prepares our pre-written lesson plans and brings them to life through instruction, engagement, and energy. Supported by an Assistant, the Lead Teacher ensures content is clear and engaging while ensuring our campers are happy, healthy, and safe. The goal is to maintain an exciting learning environment, and make science fun while building lifelong memories. Each week, we will do 15 science experiments and take the kids on field trips to the Smithsonian museums every day! This is every science nerd's dream job!
Required Qualifications:
Experience teaching children under 15 years old Experience leading a class of 10-20 children Ability to reliably commute to Smithsonian Museums on a daily basis (parking is not provided, public transportation encouraged) Ability to pass a background check Ability to move through and between Smithsonian museums in high-heat environments
Note:
This role is a contract position (10-99). We process payments weekly and taxes will not be withheld.
