Job Description
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant in the Heritage Center (Audience Services) for the 2026-2027 term, with a potential renewal for 2027-2028.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborative with Heritage Center staff, UD's Fine and Performing Arts Department, University Relations, Advancement, and Alumni offices to advance the performing arts on campus Report to the Director of Audience Services for box office and FOH (Front of House) operations and to the Executive Director on event/facility marketing and programming issues Maintain strong public relations and deliver high-quality customer service to all Heritage Center patrons and users, both on and off campus Coordinate and maintain the volunteer ushering program and class-credit ushering program for Heritage Center Supervise all FOH (Front of House) staff, including (and not limited to) ticketing assistants and ushers Oversee venue seating layouts for each event and assist to ensure that all FOH (Front of House) responsibilities are executed efficiently and with a customer-focused approach Be available to support pre- and post-show functions held in conjunction with theater events Compile and share post-event reports with management as requested Serve as a liaison for on-site catering services and collaborate with Heritage Center staff to support FOH (Front of House) needs and lobby displays Perform other duties in support of the
University's Mission Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program Allow flexibility in scheduling, as evening and weekend hours are often required. Work hours will vary based on the Heritage Center event schedule Knowledge of the VBO ticketing system for software maintenance, trouble shooting, and updates Utilize excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal High level of organization and attention to detail All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week. This position is eligible for a stipend.
