WITH EXPERIENCE

) The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG)'s Office of Workforce Development / WorkSource Georgia is seeking a qualified, Event Planner / Conference Coordinator. This position would be part of the OWD Communications Team and would be responsible for coordinating and executing meetings, conferences, job fairs, and other events held across the state -- all in support of workforce development efforts. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage logistics, communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, and support the Office of Workforce Development's mission through high-quality event delivery.

•This position requires travel statewide to coordinate conferences, meetings, and other activities. It may require occasional evenings and weekends during conferences or special events. Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and coordinate meetings, conferences, job fairs, and other events Oversee all event planning, including venue coordination, vendors, equipment, and supplies Collaborate with internal and external staff to support outreach and communications related to events Maintain detailed records of event logistics, contracts, and activities Coordinate the setting up of meeting rooms and event spaces, including décor and audio/visual equipment Help with the operation of event equipment and coordinate necessary repairs or installations Prepare and process quotes, invoices, and related documentation Build and maintain working relationships with vendors and partner organizations Address and resolve issues related to accounts, vendors, and/or event operations Implement surveys and other analytics for continued improvement purposes Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience on a year-for-year basis) Preferred Qualifications Certification in event planning Knowledge of state and federal workforce funding sources, including the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Experience with State of Georgia budgeting and procurement practices Experience in workforce development or economic development Experience with event management platform (e.g., Whova, Cvent) Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office software applications Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations Experience working with partner organizations and stakeholders Understanding of branding importance Technical Competencies Knowledge of event planning and coordination practices Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyze issues, make decisions, and resolve problems Both a team player and a self-starter Knowledge of budgeting, purchasing, and billing processes Ability to work collaboratively and keep effective working relationships Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment and event technology Physical Demands/Work conditions Work is primarily performed in an office environment during standard business hours. Limited remote work may be available in accordance with agency policy and operational needs. Work performance involves light physical duties, including intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Employees must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
