PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Event Staff assist in the logistical management of public events. Their primary responsibilities include preparing venues and setting up chairs and stages for events. Work also involves performing some minor maintenance/custodial tasks. This position is performed under minimal supervision and requires an individual to work

as well as weekdays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Community Center Event Staff serves as an assistant to the Community Center Coordinator and is responsible for the following: Required to perform general custodial duties before, during and after events to assure a clean site and well-functioning center Available to assist guests with any needs they may have during the rental of the property Assure all entry/exit doors are kept clear Routinely inspect restrooms for proper function and necessary supply of toiletries Assure any/all hazards are given immediate attention, ex: spills/malfunctioning equipment Mopping may require using larger than normal size mops Moves furniture and equipment as required for setup of event

COMPENTENCIES REQUIRED

Ability to form/maintain working relationship with employees and general public Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing Ability to physically lift heavy loads and bend or stand for long periods while carrying out cleaning and maintenance tasks

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Receives administrative direction from the Community Center Coordinator and performs the duty assignments within broad parameters defined by organizational requirements and accepted practices.

REQUIRED TESTING

Any successful applicants are subject to mandatory pre-employment screenings which require a medical evaluation and specimen testing for illegal drug use.
