Job Description

Masis Staffing is seeking an Event Set Up Lead for a local college. The Events Lead Set-Up plays a pivotal role in creating smooth and successful event experiences for the university community and external partners. This position is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and executing the physical setup, breakdown, and cleaning of various university events, including student activities, institutional programs, and external rentals. The role requires physical stamina, evening and weekend availability, and the ability to supervise student workers. Contract to Hire-$22/HR Essential Job Functions Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of University Events and campus partners to understand event requirements and expectations. Plan, organize, and oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring timely and efficient execution. Coordinate logistics for equipment, furniture, signage, and other necessary materials needed for events. Supervise and direct a team of student workers, providing clear instructions, training, and oversight. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation for event spaces before, during, and after events. Provide on-site support during events, troubleshooting issues and offering quick, effective solutions. Uphold safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure environment for staff, students, and event attendees. Support both internal university events and external events held on campus. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Ability to supervise and motivate student workers. Familiarity with event equipment, staging, technology, and safety practices. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality event execution. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ergonomic Requirements Ability to work on feet for extended periods. Significant walking, bending, and lifting required. Must be able to consistently lift and move up to 50 pounds (with occasional heavier lifts with assistance of others to lift). Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. #MFT1
