Athletic Director) Purpose of the Position The Athletic Event Student Worker supports the successful operation of home athletic events by assisting with a variety of game-day responsibilities. Assignments may vary based on the sport, event needs, and staffing requirements. Student workers play an important role in providing a positive experience for student athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators while ensuring events run efficiently and professionally. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Operate concession stands, including food and beverage sales, customer service, and cash handling. Staff ticketing tables by selling tickets, checking admissions, and assisting spectators. Serve as a field or court/floor worker to support game operations and ensure a safe competition environment. Operate the scoreboard, game clock, and other game management equipment. Make public address announcements during athletic events when needed. Assist with sport-specific game-day setup and breakdown, including preparing competition areas, equipment, and spectator spaces. Perform additional event-related duties as assigned by the Athletic Department staff. Work Expectations Student workers are expected to report one hour prior to the scheduled start time of each Education for Individual and Social Responsibility assigned home athletic event unless otherwise directed by a supervisor. Employees must maintain a professional appearance, demonstrate excellent customer service, and work effectively as part of a team. Assignments and responsibilities may vary depending on the sport, event schedule, staffing needs, and operational requirements. Student workers are expected to follow all Athletic Department policies, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions while representing the department in a professional manner. Education for
