Event Lead Sterling Spaces Clemmons, NC Job Details Full-time $22 - $26 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Customer communication Teamwork Interpersonal skills Outdoor work experience Catering experience Attention to detail Organizational skills Event customer service Full Job Description Position Summary The Event Lead is responsible for serving as the primary on-site leader during assigned events, ensuring that every aspect of the event is executed according to Sterling Spaces' standards for service, professionalism, hospitality, and operational excellence. This position serves as the key point of contact for the event staff and client throughout the event. The Event Lead is expected to take ownership of the event from setup through breakdown, proactively identify and resolve issues, communicate effectively with internal teams and vendors, and ensure that the client and their guests receive an exceptional experience. This is a highly visible, hands-on position that requires strong leadership, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in a fast-paced event environment. Essential Responsibilities Serve as the on-site operational leader for assigned weddings, corporate events, social events, and other functions. Review the event timeline, floor plan, event details, staffing assignments, and special instructions prior to each event. Lead and direct event staff during setup, event service, transitions, and breakdown. Conduct pre-event staff meetings and communicate expectations, assignments, timelines, and service standards. Ensure all event spaces are properly set according to approved floor plans and event specifications. Monitor event flow and ensure that scheduled activities remain on time. Coordinate transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, speeches, and other portions of the event. Communicate with vendors, caterers, bar staff, entertainment, rental companies, and other event partners as needed. Ensure all Sterling Spaces policies, procedures, and service standards are followed throughout the event. Maintain a professional and welcoming presence throughout the duration of the event. Serve as a friendly and professional point of contact for clients and their designated representatives during the event. Anticipate client and guest needs and proactively address concerns before they become issues. Assist with last-minute requests and reasonable event-day adjustments while remaining within company policies and approved event details. Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and escalate issues to the appropriate manager when necessary. Protect the overall client experience by resolving operational challenges discreetly and efficiently. Help create an elevated, hospitable experience that reflects the Sterling Spaces brand. Direct event staff and ensure each team member understands their responsibilities. Monitor staff performance, appearance, professionalism, and adherence to service standards. Assign staff to specific setup, service, cleaning, guest assistance, and breakdown responsibilities. Assist with training new event staff on Sterling Spaces procedures and expectations. Address performance or conduct concerns appropriately and communicate significant issues to management. Encourage teamwork and maintain a positive, professional work environment during events. Qualifications Previous experience in event operations, hospitality, catering, weddings, restaurants, hotels, or a related service industry preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems independently. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to work well with clients, vendors, coworkers, and leadership. Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events. Ability to lift and carry event-related items weighing approximately 25-50 pounds as needed. Ability to move furniture, tables, chairs, décor, and other event equipment. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions. Ability to remain active and engaged throughout events that may last several hours.
