Development Associate

Job Description

Scouting America Long Island is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Development Associate to lead and grow the Council's comprehensive fundraising efforts across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. This position provides leadership, strategy, and execution for all development initiatives, including Friends of Scouting, special events, corporate partnerships, and foundation support. Responsibilities Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, community leaders, corporate partners, and foundations throughout the Council's territory. Lead the planning and execution of Friends of Scouting presentations, special events, and other revenue-generating activities. Plan and coordinate event details, including venues, catering, entertainment, AV, and staging, and more. Act as a point of contact for vendors, supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees, providing exceptional service and support. Prepare digital event communications for social media, save the dates, invitations, event programs, and other marketing materials as needed in coordination with branding guidelines. Collect, organize, enter, and maintain comprehensive event data, including financial support, guest names, contact information, table assignments, sponsorship/donor benefits, and other key notes relevant to the event.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, consistent with Scouting America professional requirements. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to recruit, motivate, and work effectively with volunteers. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Comfortable speaking with community leaders, families, volunteers, and groups. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends. Scouting experience is helpful but not required. Compensation:
Starting salary: $66,500 annually
Pay:
$66,500.00 per year
