Make a Difference Through Philanthropy Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) is seeking an ambitious, creative, and results-oriented Sponsorships and Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of fundraising events that support our mission and strengthen our impact throughout the communities we serve. This key development position is responsible for the strategic planning, sponsorship development, execution, and financial success of CMCS philanthropic events. The Sponsorships and Events Manager will oversee all aspects of assigned events, from concept development and sponsorship cultivation to event execution and post-event stewardship, ensuring each event achieves or exceeds fundraising and engagement goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive fundraiser and project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at securing sponsorship support, and is passionate about creating exceptional experiences that inspire investment in CMCS's mission
Responsibilities:
Own the sponsorship and event revenue goals established for assigned events and develop a clear plan to meet or exceed those goals. Build and actively manage a pipeline of prospective sponsors, donors, vendors, and in-kind partners for CMCS events. Coordinate venues, vendors, contracts, event logistics, registration, seating, setup, breakdown, and day-of operations. Develop sponsorship outreach strategies, solicitation schedules, prospect assignments, and follow-up plans aligned with event revenue targets. Track sponsorship commitments, payments, outstanding asks, in-kind support, and progress against goal; provide timely revenue forecasts and status updates to the Vice President of Philanthropy. Partner with the Digital Marketing & Communications Manager on event communications, promotional materials, sponsor visibility, media strategy, and audience engagement needed to support attendance and revenue objectives. Recruit, coordinate, train, and direct volunteers supporting CMCS events.
Requirements:
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible event planning, sponsorship development, fundraising, sales, or related experience; nonprofit experience strongly preferred Experience supervising or directing staff, volunteers, vendors, or event teams. Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and writing skills. Proficiency in DonorPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn and effectively use additional fundraising and event technology. Bachelor's degree preferred
Additional Requirements:
Strong personal sales, relationship-building, negotiation, follow-up, and closing skills. Strong strategic, analytical, organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. High level of initiative, ownership, accountability, and sound judgment; able to recognize when additional support is needed and proactively engage the appropriate resources.
