TOR Director \General Description We are seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant/Event Coordinator to join our program team. This role is pivotal in supporting both the administrative functions and the planning and execution of cultural events and activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and documentation skills, ensuring accurate record-keeping and smooth office operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of tribal culture, traditions, and community values. Experience in coordinating events, preferably with a focus on cultural or community-based activities. Strong administrative and organizational skills, including proficiency with office software and record-keeping. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of departments and community members. Lived experience in recovery highly preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a supportive approach to working with diverse populations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed for events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and organized documentation for program activities, meetings, and events. Coordinate, plan, and execute cultural events and activities that reflect tribal traditions and values. Collaborate with other tribal departments to leverage resources and ensure unified event execution. Serve as a cultural liaison, integrating tribal customs and practices into program initiatives. Manage event logistics, including scheduling, venue arrangements, supplies, and communication with participants and vendors. Assist with general administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and supporting office operations. Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for all program participants, especially those in recovery. Develop and maintain relationships with community members, elders, and cultural leaders to enhance event relevance and impact. Promote events and activities through appropriate channels and assist with outreach efforts. Provide feedback and suggestions for program improvement based on event outcomes and participant input.
