POSITION DESCRIPTION
Synapse School is seeking a creative and enthusiastic caregiver with previous experience working with children. The After Care Team Member will work with faculty, the After Care team, and the Director of Auxiliary Programs to monitor and facilitate all activities associated with the daily After Care Program. The After Care Associate hours are 3:30pm
6:00pm Monday
Thursday, and 2:30pm
6:00pm on Friday. We are also open to hours being 4:00

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
Work as an integral member of the After School Team to nurture a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive environment for children and families. Ensure that students are supervised at all times.
Provide excellent customer service by establishing and maintaining authentic connections with students, families, schools, communities and center/classroom team. Set a positive example for students and a professional demeanor at all times
As needed, guide students through activities and provide homework assistance
As needed, provide support with After School enrichment programs for elementary school grades (TK-8th Grades)
As needed, assist with related administrative tasks
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 17 years of age or older
Must have transportation to and from Synapse
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to pass a background check and proof of immunizations
Must have and maintain CPR / First Aid certification
Previous experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged children is preferred
Confidence working with large groups of students and a high level of responsibility
Demonstrate kindness, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, adaptability investment in continued learning and professional growth, and a passion for supporting children as they grow and learn
A passion to work cooperatively with colleagues on a consistent basis and actively cultivate an inclusive environment and support a school community grounded in empathy, social responsibility, and an appreciation and respect for individual differences
WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE
Able to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
Able to visually engage with students, materials, and documents as needed for instruction and supervision.
Able to hear and process verbal communication in a classroom, gym, or outdoor setting.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively with students and colleagues.
Able to assist students and interact with equipment and materials, including bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting (in chairs or on the floor), and reaching in various directions.
Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as equipment or supplies.

$20
25 / hour, depending on experience.
