Job Description

ABOUT THE EVENT
The International Cheese & Wine Festival is a weekend celebration of artisan cheeses and wines from around the world, presented by TasteUSA Food and Drink Festivals. Held at the Philadelphia Expo Center (100 Station Ave, Oaks, PA 19456), the festival welcomes thousands of guests across two days of guided tastings, seminars, and 60-80 vendor booths. Festival hours are 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026, with load-in and setup on Friday, October 9.
THE ROLE
The Cheese Prep Specialist cuts, plates, and color-codes cheese, keeping platters prepped and presentation-ready throughout service. Cut, plate, and color-code cheese for service throughout the day. Prep platters ahead of and during peak service to keep stations flowing. Maintain presentation standards and follow all food-safety and portioning guidance. Coordinate with runners on restock timing so booths never run short.
REQUIRED SKILLS
2+ years of event or hospitality experience, food prep preferred. Knife skills and clean, consistent plating. Strong attention to detail and speed under pressure. Working knowledge of food-safety and sanitation; cheese familiarity a plus. Reliability and clear team communication.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Mandatory staff meeting: Friday, October 9, 2026, 7:30-8:30 PM. Attendance is required for all staff.
Work hours:
Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM both days.
Advance prep:
Work Friday, October 9, 12:00-7:30 PM to prep cheese ahead of event day.
Position type:
Contract.
Eligibility:
Must be 18 or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S. Contract staff are paid via 1099 and complete a W-9.
Interview:
All candidates must be available for a Zoom interview.
Payment:
$700 flat rate for the weekend. Paid by check on Sunday, October 11 at 7:00 PM, following station breakdown.
Meals:
Meals are provided for all staff on shift.
Food handling:
Follow the onsite caterer's food-safety direction; a food-handler certificate may be requested by the organizer.
