Job Description

Allan Brothers is seeking Temporary Team Members (Day & Night) to join our team! Allan Brothers., Inc. is now hiring! Are you looking for a fun and energetic place to work? Team Member is responsible for identifying and removing defective fruit according to the packing standards while performing tray filling, bagging and box filling duties. This position requires the ability to rotate throughout the production line as needed, including the packing line, bagging area, Aporo machines operation, and decay pre-grade sorting area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are not intended to reflect all duties that may be assigned to this position. Allan Brothers may augment duties, including essential functions, at its discretion. Team Member - Tray Filler Sort fruit according to grade, color and size specifications. Place fruit on trays according to packing standards and presentation. Return fruit by placing fruit onto a belt at arm length reach (approx. 12 inches.) Discard defected fruit by placing it onto a conveyor belt at arm length reach (approx. 21 inches) Team Member - Box filler Position cardboard box at the end of the line to start positioning packed tray in box. Cardboard boxes can weigh (minimum) 2.20 lbs. to Max 3 lbs. Plastic RPC totes may be used depending on packing needs, weighing at 4.5 lbs. without the fruit. Place trays with positioned fruit into a box. Tray can vary in size and weight depending on packing instructions. Can weigh from (minimum) 10.5 lbs. to Max 14lbs. Operator Aporo machine through a touch screen display and position trays in box Team Member - Bagging Packing Line - Manually bag fruit when required by packing instructions. When necessary, using a portable weigher, employees may need to weigh bag of apples based on fruit size and packing instruction. Bag weight can weigh as minimum of 2.05lbs to Max 6 lbs. Operate equipment required for the position, including Aporo machines, packing line equipment and bagging machines. Operate in the bagging area weighing, clipping bags closed, or assisting with automated bagging equipment removing completed bags. Apply shook labels as required. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting quality and production standards. Team Member - Clams Label plastic clam containers with stickers based on instructions Position labeled clams into box for storage and distribution. Weight can be divided upon need.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF AND WILLNG TO LEARN
(The facts, information, and skills that are required by the candidate to qualify for the position.) Knowledge of defects and grades for different varieties Knowledge of packing materials (Boxes, bags, trays and PLUs) Other duties as assigned by Floor leads and Supervisor
ABILITY TO
(The talent, skills, or proficiency related to the position requirements.) Lift, carry and or push up to 25 lbs. regularly. Lift, carry and or push 40 lbs. or more, as required. Perform tasks above shoulder level, at shoulder level and below shoulder level Ability to Multitask Work quickly and efficiently with both hands Pack bags weighing 2 - 6 pounds and trays 10- 14 pounds for up to a 10-hour shift or longer. Stand for 10 hours or more during a shift. Be Flexible and willing to work in other departments as needed, including Repack and Cherry Seasonal operations.
EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION/LICENSES, AND TRAINING
(The recommended experience, education, licenses and training required for the position.) Apple warehouse knowledge - Preferred Ability to read and understand display screens. - Preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
(The conditions in which the candidate or staff works, including but not limited to such things as amenities, physical environment, stress and noise levels, degree of safety or danger, and the like.) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant changes to meet production demands. This position requires working in an environment with higher-than-normal noise levels, cramped/confined spaces and well exposure to dust and wet floors.
