• This is probably not the brewery job you're imagining.
• We're looking for someone to help us build and maintain a place where people enjoy being together.

Our tasting room is a small, comfortable social space. People come to have a beer, play a game, read a book, talk with friends, meet someone new, or simply hang out for a while. Our job is to make that possible. ## What you'll actually do You'll learn to take care of the place: cleaning and sanitation, setup and tear-down, serving, answering questions, keeping things organized, dealing with whatever comes up, and noticing things that need attention before somebody else does. None of it's particularly difficult, but there are a thousand little things, and we need them done correctly and consistently. You'll learn our procedures and standards, and eventually you'll learn how to do more and more of the work independently. ## And yes, there's beer This is a brewery, so you'll learn about beer and how we make it. But brewing is

• not•where you'll start, and it's not the main point of the job.

Early on, brewery-side work leans more toward cleaning and sanitation -- including some deep-cleaning -- and helping with the unglamorous bits. At some point you may be shoveling grain into a mash tun and stirring it around. Later, you may be shoveling that same grain back out again. You'll learn how to make beer.

• ## The kind of person we're looking for We're looking for someone who takes responsibility for the things around them and enjoys making a place work well.

Someone who can learn and repeat procedures, pay attention to details, work independently, and take care of things. Someone who enjoys people enjoying themselves—but doesn't need to be the center of attention. Someone who can be playful without being disruptive, friendly without being performative, and comfortable doing the unglamorous work that makes everything else possible. ## Where this can go Today, this is essentially a one-person operation with occasional help. We'd like to grow until it makes sense to have a small team working rotating shifts. If we do that, we're going to need someone who can eventually help lead that team. You don't need to know how to do that today. You do need to be someone we can eventually rely on to do it.
