SAV MISSION
The production roaster's mission is to roast awesome coffee efficiently, consistently, and at scale. You'll execute established profiles with precision, keep the roastery clean and dialed in, minimize waste, and support the production crew wherever needed. Success means every batch hits the mark and every order keeps moving.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Roast daily batches on Loring equipment Cross-communicate with packing & distribution about coffee demand Ensure an optimal amount of roasted coffee on hand Generate roast logs and ensure space is prepped each roast day Receive, organize, and put away deliveries of green coffee Keep roasting, green, and production areas clean and organized Ensure all roaster maintenance tasks are performed and logged Assist and participate in weekly production cuppings Assist in routine QC tasks, including color and moisture readings Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling heavy objects up to 50lbs Assist in lifting green coffee bags of up to 150lbs Weigh and bag roasted coffee Help maintain and clean production/order fulfillment areas Learn and adhere to PERC's safety and hygiene standards Working a hybrid of shifts in roasting and production fulfillment (as needed) Key Performance Indicators Total pounds of green coffee roasted Freshness of coffee in all fulfillment channels Consistency of roasted coffee flavor, as determined at weekly production cuppings Roasting error rate Requirements Strong initiative, organization, and autonomous decision-making Work efficiently to maximize roasted coffee output Basic math and computer skills An inclusive mindset and a team-player attitude Service-first mentality with a willingness to learn Communicate professionally using active listening and being fully present Have a positive outlook, promoting constructive feedback on challenges at work Dependable and able to fulfill work commitments while being punctual Adhering to loaded roast profiles and ensuring curve accuracy Team-oriented - lending a helping hand in production where needed Compensation & Benefits $18 per hour Health, vision, & dental insurance Paid time off Paid sick leave Free coffee and swag
