Duties Welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, providing a friendly first impression. Coordinate guest seating by maintaining accurate waitlists and communicating wait times clearly via phone or in person. Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times and general inquiries while practicing excellent phone etiquette. Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand area to ensure a welcoming environment. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to facilitate smooth table turnover and guest flow. Handle guest inquiries or concerns promptly, demonstrating strong communication skills and guest relations expertise. Qualifications Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone. Excellent organizational skills to manage waitlists and seating efficiently. Basic math skills for handling tables management and guest billing processes when needed. Understanding of food safety standards and restaurant operations is a plus.
