The Front Desk Manager will work closely with the General Manager (GM) and Hotel Operations Manager (HOM) to ensure smooth daily hotel operations, excellent guest service, and proper execution of front desk procedures. This is a hands-on management position. The ideal candidate should be comfortable supervising front desk operations while also assisting guests, handling reservations, resolving issues, supporting the front desk team, and assisting with our new barista-style coffee shop coming soon to the hotel. Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day front desk operations Work closely with the GM and Hotel Operations Manager to ensure smooth daily hotel operations Supervise and support Front Desk Agents during their shifts Ensure proper completion of all guest check-in and check-out procedures Manage and monitor online, telephone, and walk-in reservations Oversee guest communication before, during, and after their stay Respond to guest questions, requests, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner Resolve guest issues and escalate serious matters to management when necessary Ensure Front Desk Agents follow hotel policies, procedures, and customer-service standards Verify that guest information, payments, deposits, and reservation details are properly recorded Monitor daily arrivals, departures, room availability, and reservation activity Coordinate closely with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned, inspected, and available for arriving guests Communicate room status, maintenance concerns, and operational issues to the appropriate departments Assist with training and onboarding new Front Desk Agents Ensure the front desk and lobby areas remain organized, welcoming, and professional Maintain accurate records of reservations, payments, guest communications, and shift activity Complete shift reports and communicate important information to the GM and Hotel Operations Manager Assist management with implementing hotel policies and improving front desk procedures Handle guest situations professionally while protecting the interests of both the guest and the hotel Perform Front Desk Agent duties when necessary to support hotel operations Assist with the day-to-day operations of our upcoming barista-style coffee shop located within the hotel Help ensure the coffee shop provides the same high level of customer service and hospitality as the hotel Assist with coffee shop opening/closing procedures, guest service, cleanliness, organization, and daily operational needs as required Work with hotel management to help successfully launch and operate the new coffee shop concept Qualifications Previous hotel front desk, hospitality, supervisory, or management experience preferred Strong customer-service and guest-relations skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to supervise, train, and support front desk employees Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced hotel environment Professional, dependable, and able to take ownership of daily operations Ability to handle difficult guest situations calmly and professionally Comfortable working independently and as part of the hotel management team Basic computer and reservation-system knowledge Willingness to learn and assist with our new barista-style coffee shop operation Previous café, coffee shop, food & beverage, or barista experience is a plus, but not required What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities and understands that excellent hotel operations depend on strong communication, organization, teamwork, and guest service. The Front Desk Manager will serve as an important link between guests, front desk staff, housekeeping, the General Manager, and the Hotel Operations Manager. As our hotel continues to grow, this position will also have the opportunity to help with the launch and daily operation of our new barista-style coffee shop, creating an additional welcoming experience for both hotel guests and customers.
