Job Summary Courtyard by Marriott Cleveland Airport North is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the hotel's daily operations, drive financial performance, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. The General Manager will oversee all departments, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, and Food & Beverage, while ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies. The hotel is located at 24901 Country Club Boulevard in North Olmsted, approximately 5.3 miles from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The property offers guest accommodations, The Bistro, The Market, meeting space, an indoor pool, fitness center, and complimentary airport shuttle service. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the hotel and ensure smooth coordination between all departments. Lead, coach, and develop department managers and hotel employees. Maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety, and overall hotel presentation. Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, operating procedures, and quality assurance requirements. Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reviews, and guest feedback; develop action plans for improvement. Manage hotel revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall financial performance. Review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including the P&L statement. Work closely with Sales and Revenue Management to increase occupancy, group business, and overall hotel revenue. Monitor labor costs, scheduling, payroll, purchasing, and operating expenses. Ensure proper management of The Bistro, The Market, meeting space, and other hotel amenities. Oversee preventive maintenance, engineering operations, life-safety requirements, and property improvements. Ensure compliance with OSHA, health department, fire safety, and other applicable regulations. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, supplies, and service agreements. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and long-term property improvement projects. Handle guest concerns, employee relations, and operational challenges in a professional manner. Conduct regular property inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed. Support hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee retention. Maintain effective communication with ownership, management company, Marriott representatives, and department heads. Serve as Manager on Duty and respond to emergencies or operational issues when required. Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest satisfaction. Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel management experience , preferably as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Operations Manager. Previous Marriott or Courtyard experience preferred. Strong knowledge of hotel operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Experience managing Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, and Food & Beverage departments. Proven ability to improve guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and hotel profitability. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions. Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Marriott systems and brand standards is preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergency situations. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
