The Sportsmen's Athletic Club is located in Millcreek Township on West 8th Street, close to the Peninsula. We have about 1500 members and this September we will celebrate our 88th anversary. Club Manager Job Description The Club Manager will promote and grow the club, hire and train all staff and ensure that members and their guests receive quality service up to the standards set by the board. They will also assist the board with state gaming and liquor law compliance. The manager will oversee inventory and resources, plan promotional events, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, maintain current licenses and update vendor contracts, create schedules, and set business objectives to increase revenue and maximize customer satisfaction. The Club's manager must also be able to work with diverse personalities and always promote the club and serve our members.
Responsibilities:
Manage the business aspects of the Club, such as keeping a current liquor license, negotiating supplier contracts, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
Hiring and training staff to provide excellent service to members and guests.
Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that Club is well staffed during peak hours.
Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
Enuring licenses are updated and in line with current liquor code
Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons.
Planning, scheduling and taking part in events.
Handling situations between club members or staff members in a fair, even handed non bias way.
Prevention of any foreseeable safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for members and guests.
Following the direction of the Club's Board of Directors, and keeping the Board of Directors informed.
To keep familiar with the regulations and record keeping requirements pertaining to the sale of liquor by a Club and conducting gambling operations by a club as set forth by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and any other governmental body.
Make sure the club members are informed via postings in the club, social media and other means of communication.
Other duties as may be assigned by the Board.
Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED Prior club, restaurant or management experience or more education is generally preferred. Strong understanding of business management and accounting/bookkeeping principles. Computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to resolve situations and resolve conflicts. Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources. Decisiveness. Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally lift and carry items (25+ pounds) in a fast-paced, stressful environment The Sportsmen's Club is an equal opportunity employer.
