Job Description

General Manager - Extended Stay HotelOverview We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and results-driven Hotel General Manager to lead the operations of our extended-stay hotel. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional with proven experience managing hotels that serve long-term guests, including corporate travelers, construction crews, healthcare professionals, relocation guests, insurance housing, and government travelers. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who understands that extended-stay hospitality is built on exceptional guest relationships, operational excellence, and proactive sales. This individual will be responsible for maximizing occupancy, increasing long-term room revenue, developing local business partnerships, and creating an environment where guests choose to stay month after month. Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Oversee all daily hotel operations including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Guest Services. Maintain exceptional guest satisfaction and consistently high online review scores. Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Monitor property appearance, cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and quality assurance. Manage labor costs, operating expenses, and departmental budgets. Ensure accurate night audit procedures and financial reporting. Sales & Business Development Drive long-term occupancy through proactive local sales efforts.
Develop relationships with:
Construction companies Hospitals and traveling medical professionals Insurance housing providers Government agencies Local manufacturers Universities Corporate relocation companies Staffing agencies Generate monthly leads and maintain an active sales pipeline. Conduct outside sales calls and networking within the local market. Work with the revenue management team to optimize ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR while maximizing long-term revenue. Guest Experience Build strong relationships with extended-stay guests. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Create a welcoming community atmosphere for guests staying 30+ nights. Implement guest retention initiatives that encourage repeat business. Monitor guest feedback and online reviews, taking immediate corrective action when necessary. Leadership Recruit, train, coach, and mentor hotel staff. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and exceptional service. Conduct regular employee meetings and performance reviews. Develop future leaders within the hotel. Financial Management Prepare and manage annual budgets. Analyze financial reports and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Control payroll, purchasing, inventory, and operating expenses. Achieve revenue and profitability goals established by ownership. QualificationsRequired Minimum 5 years of hotel management experience , including at least 2 years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager . Demonstrated success managing an extended-stay hotel, apartment-style hotel, corporate housing property, or hotel with a significant long-term guest base . Strong understanding of long-term guest operations and customer retention. Experience generating corporate accounts and local business. Proven ability to improve occupancy and revenue. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with hotel financial statements, budgeting, payroll, and forecasting. Proficiency with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS). Preferred Experience with Choice Hotels, Wyndham, Marriott, Hilton, or IHG brands. Sales experience in hospitality. Knowledge of revenue management. Bilingual or multilingual. Experience using hotel CRM and sales management systems. What Success Looks Like The successful General Manager will: Increase long-term occupancy. Develop new corporate and local business accounts.
