Director of Housekeeping Responsible for organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping department and ensuring that the facility and resident areas exceptionally maintained at all times. Ensure the day-to-day function of the facility Housekeeping department exceeds expectations. Implement and ensure compliance with all facility housekeeping policies and procedures. Maintain a working knowledge of any and all applicable local, state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and the CDC. Assist with coordinating housekeeping services and activities with other related departments. Report any feedback to the Director of Housekeeping and assist in implementing any changes to better serve the facility. Attend and participate in in-service trainings including annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs. Submit any and all accident and incident reports to the appropriate staff with urgency. Supervise the housekeeping staff, including scheduling, regular performance management, training schedules, and related actions. As necessary, serve on internal committees of the facility as the Housekeeping department representative. Ensure that necessary materials, including disinfectants, cleaning chemical, and equipment, are always stocked and coordinate with Central Supply for any needed orders. Work with internal departments to ensure that all housekeeping related materials, including disinfectants and cleaning chemicals have all necessary labels and SDSs/MSDSs. Work with internal departments to develop and maintain waste disposal related policies and procedures. Assist in employment related efforts for the department, including hiring, performance management, mentoring programs, professional development opportunities, scheduling, training, separations, etc. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Other duties as assigned. High School Diploma or its equivalent is required; Associates degree or equivalent college coursework preferred. 2 years of experience in housekeeping management capacity in healthcare or hospitality facility required. 1 years of supervisory experience required. Maintain a demonstratable knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations that could impact the department including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and an independent manner. Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and multi-tasking skills required. Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, lead and direct the work of others. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job. Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam, if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry. Physical and Sensory requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine-hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to communicate with residents; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; ability to read and write; and ability to remain calm under emergency situations and while dealing with multiple tasks.
