Job Description

Excelcare at Lewes is seeking a Housekeeping Director that leads all housekeeping and environmental operations to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role oversees sanitation standards, infection control support, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance while promoting a culture of excellence, dignity, and resident-centered care throughout the facility. Housekeeping Director Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of housekeeping and environmental services (EVS) Supervise, train, and support housekeeping and EVS staff Develop and implement sanitation and infection control procedures Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Conduct regular inspections and address any concerns promptly Collaborate with other departments to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for residents
Housekeeping Directors Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in healthcare or long-term care Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Knowledge of infection control practices and regulatory standards Ability to manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management systems Reliable and professional work habits Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Excelcare is an equal opportunity employer.
