Position Summary The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations and ensuring that all guest accommodations (rooms, cabins, houses), all public areas, are consistently clean, comfortable, safe, and maintained to the highest standards. This position provides leadership to the housekeeping team, manages daily operations, monitors quality and productivity, and helps create an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and previous hotel or resort housekeeping experience. Essential Responsibilities Direct and supervise all housekeeping operations and staff. Schedule, train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping employees. Inspect guest accommodations, public areas, and other property spaces to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met. Establish and maintain housekeeping procedures, checklists, and quality standards. Coordinate daily room assignments and housekeeping priorities based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and special requests. Work closely with the Front Desk and Maintenance departments to communicate room status, guest requests, and maintenance concerns. Monitor inventory of linens, towels, cleaning supplies, amenities, and housekeeping equipment. Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety requirements. Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns related to housekeeping. Coordinate deep-cleaning projects, seasonal cleaning, and preventive maintenance needs. Monitor employee performance and ensure established standards are consistently followed. Maintain accurate records, schedules, supply orders, and departmental reports. Assist with housekeeping duties when necessary, particularly during busy periods or staffing shortages. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable health and sanitation standards. Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment. Qualifications Previous supervisory or management experience in hotel, resort, or hospitality housekeeping preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to lead, motivate, and hold employees accountable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull housekeeping equipment and supplies as required. Previous experience with housekeeping software or hotel property-management systems is a plus. Key Performance Expectations The Housekeeping Manager will be expected to maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction while effectively managing labor, supplies, inventory, and departmental expenses.
