In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of school facilities, ensuring that every space is safe, functional, and inviting. Your proactive approach to custodial duties will directly contribute to a positive learning atmosphere and the smooth operation of daily school activities. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and other school areas using various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a secure environment for all staff and students. Conduct heavy lifting tasks involving supplies, furniture, and cleaning equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injuries. Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, waste removal, and ensuring restrooms are hygienic at all times. Operate custodial equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and other commercial cleaning tools efficiently. Perform minor maintenance tasks such as residential painting touch-ups or basic repairs to keep facilities in top condition. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to promote a secure environment and prevent accidents or hazards. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a school or commercial setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and effectively while following safety protocol adherence. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners is advantageous. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices including basic repairs and painting is a plus. Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of heavy lifting techniques and safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students in a respectful manner.
