Overview Join our dedicated Environmental Services team as an Environmental Services Housekeeper and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within healthcare facilities. Your efforts will directly contribute to infection prevention, patient safety, and overall facility hygiene. This position offers an energetic and rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact every day by ensuring high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are met consistently. Duties Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, operating rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Handle laundry tasks including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with safety protocols. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners to maintain spotless floors and surfaces. Follow strict chemical handling procedures to safely use cleaning agents, disinfectants, and other hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards. Practice safe manual handling techniques for heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment to prevent injury. Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines. Restock supplies in patient rooms and public areas while ensuring all cleaning activities meet hospital safety protocols. Document cleaning activities accurately and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to supervisory staff. Requirements Proven experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping, custodial work, or commercial cleaning environments. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety protocols, and manual handling practices. Familiarity with hospital or healthcare infection prevention standards is highly desirable. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, visitors, and colleagues. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout shifts. Certification or training in chemical agent handling or environmental services is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed.
