Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and energetic Day Porter Janitor to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities. This vital role ensures that our environment remains welcoming, sanitary, and well-maintained for employees, visitors, and clients alike. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional custodial services with a focus on safety and efficiency. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, handling cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, and providing excellent customer service to all building occupants. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and maintaining accurate records of usage. Conduct light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and reporting larger issues to maintenance teams. Ensure safety protocols are adhered to during all custodial activities, including heavy lifting practices and safe handling of cleaning tools and chemicals. Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility-related inquiries promptly and courteously. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks like painting touch-ups or industrial cleaning projects as needed to support the overall upkeep of the premises. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards. Experience with heavy lifting and safe lifting practices in accordance with safety protocols. Background in facilities maintenance or general upkeep work is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety guidelines rigorously. Customer service skills that enable effective communication with building occupants and visitors.
