$45,000•51,000 per year | Full-Time About the Position GMI National Service Company is seeking an experienced Working Janitorial Supervisor to lead evening custodial operations across a large, multi-building charter school campus. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising the evening janitorial team across approximately 10 buildings while ensuring all assigned facilities are properly staffed, cleaned, inspected, and secured each night. Responsibilities Lead and supervise evening janitorial/porter staff across multiple campus buildings. Assign daily work, monitor productivity, and ensure cleaning standards are consistently met. Perform hands-on commercial janitorial work alongside the team as needed. Manage employee call-outs and coordinate staffing or coverage to ensure all assigned areas are completed. Conduct building inspections and correct cleaning deficiencies before the end of the shift. Train, coach, and provide day-to-day direction to janitorial employees. Address attendance, performance, and routine personnel concerns; escalate issues to the Janitorial Manager when appropriate. Oversee established commercial cleaning procedures for classrooms, restrooms, offices, common areas, floors, and other campus facilities. Monitor custodial supplies and equipment and communicate operational or maintenance needs. Complete end-of-shift walkthroughs and ensure buildings are properly cleaned, secured, and ready for the following school day. Travel between buildings throughout the campus using company-provided golf carts. Required Qualifications Fluent in both Spanish and English — required. 3+ years of professional janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, portering, or commercial cleaning experience. Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning. Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety practices. Experience managing employees, work assignments, call-outs, and day-to-day performance. Ability and willingness to perform physical janitorial work throughout the shift. Ability to work independently and manage multiple buildings, employees, and priorities. Reliable attendance and availability to work Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-3:00 AM. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform the physical requirements of commercial custodial work.
