Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at a manufacturing facility in Athens. This vital role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment to support efficient operations. The ideal candidate will bring custodial expertise, safety awareness, and a proactive attitude to ensure our facility meets the highest standards of sanitation and upkeep. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of manufacturing areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks, following all chemical handling safety procedures Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain optimal floor care and cleanliness standards Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of cleaning supplies, furniture, and equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices Maintain cleanliness of machinery and facility surfaces to ensure a safe working environment Follow established safety protocols during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks as needed to support overall site operations Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience in industrial or commercial settings Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers Ability to handle chemical agents safely by adhering to chemical handling safety procedures Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining safe lifting practices Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety protocol adherence Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and visitors Prior experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required Join us in creating a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment!
