Sacred Heart Church & School is looking for the next member of our team to serve as Sacred Heart Part-Time Custodian! The Part-Time Custodian reports to the Sacred Heart Facilities Director and is responsible for fulfilling basic custodial duties around the facility including the church, parish offices, and rectory. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Offices and Rectory (including Parish Center) o Sweep and mop hard surface floors o Vacuum carpeted floors o Empty trash cans in all rooms o Cleaned/disinfect toilets, sinks, showers and mirrors in bathrooms o Clean glass on entry doors o Sweep front porch o Dust for cobwebs as applicable o Clean tables in parish center and rectory basement as needed o Clean sinks, stove, fronts of appliances, and countertops in kitchen o Other cleaning as directed Church/Chapel o Sweep and mop hard surface floors o Vacuum carpeted floors o Empty trash cans as applicable (choir area, cry room, storage rooms) o Clean/disinfect toilets, sinks, and mirrors in bathrooms (1 cry room) o Dust for cobwebs as applicable (exterior entrance, gathering space, etc.) o Clean glass on entry doors (main entrance, fire doors, and doors into sacred space) o Other cleaning as directed The Part-Time Custodian would work at Sacred Heart Catholic Church starting at the beginning of August. Hours of operation would take place from 8am to 4pm on Mondays to clean the church and two additional hours on another day of the week to clean the rectory/office. Total working hours would be ten hours per week. Qualifications The optimal candidate will be one who can effectively communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with parish stakeholders and staff. Candidates should have a high school diploma. Candidates should be reasonably fluent with email. Candidates shall be able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds regularly and climb ladders/step stools regularly. All persons hired regardless of position are subject to the FWSB Diocesan background check & Safe Environment processes. Compensation Starting wage = $14.00 per hour. There are no health insurance benefits associated with this position.
