Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Junior Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across various areas. Handle cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums with proper technique. Apply sanitation procedures to restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure compliance with health standards. Safely handle chemical agents used for cleaning and disinfecting following safety protocols and handling safety procedures. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed. Conduct basic facilities maintenance including minor repairs and reporting larger issues to supervisors. Maintain cleanliness of floors through buffing and floor care techniques suitable for different surfaces. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Skills Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning standards. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and chemical dispensers. Ability to handle chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures. Physical strength and stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness standards. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed. Basic facilities maintenance knowledge including minor repairs and upkeep tasks.
