Cleaning Specialist Evening Commercial Cleaning

Entry-Level JobVerifiedNo experience needed

Job Description

Immediate evening openings — commercial facilities only Anderson Cleaning is hiring dependable Cleaning Specialists for evening commercial cleaning assignments in Northampton and other Western Massachusetts communities. This is a part-time W-2 position with approximately 10-25 hours per week. Work normally begins after 5:30 p.m., once our customers' offices have closed. There are no daytime openings for this position at present. Most employees have a fixed building schedule. Depending on the hours requested and the available assignments, a Cleaning Specialist may work at one building or at more than one location. Exact workdays, approximate shift length, assigned location, and expected weekly hours will be discussed before an applicant accepts an assignment. This position may be a good fit if you prefer independent evening work, take pride in finishing a detailed task list, and understand the responsibility that comes with working in a customer's building after hours. What you will do
  • Clean commercial offices, small medical offices, and similar facilities; this is not residential cleaning.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and assigned workspaces.
  • Vacuum carpets; mop hard floors; remove trash and recycling; dust; and disinfect high-touch surfaces.
  • Follow the written requirements and security rules for each assigned building.
  • Safeguard customer keys, alarm codes, and access to secure areas.
  • Use a smartphone-based system to clock in and out, receive work information, and complete required inventory reporting.
  • Report supply needs, building concerns, damage, or unusual conditions promptly.
  • Work independently or as part of a small team, depending on the building.
  • Use small carpet-spotting machines or similar equipment after training when an assignment requires it. Schedule and travel
  • Evening work only; shifts generally begin after 5:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., or later depending on the customer.
  • Assignments may operate one, two, three, or five nights per week.
  • The assigned building schedule is normally fixed, but the shift ends when the scheduled cleaning and closeout responsibilities are complete.
  • Occasional Saturday work may be required for certain assignments.
  • Anderson Cleaning generally follows each customer's holiday schedule. Work may be required when an assigned customer remains open.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to commute up to approximately 30 minutes to an assigned worksite.
  • Because some assignments may include more than one building, a valid driver's license and reliable, insured personal vehicle are required for multi-site assignments.
  • Required travel time between assigned job sites is paid. When an employee is required to use a personal vehicle between sites, transportation expenses are reimbursed in accordance with applicable law and company policy. What Anderson Cleaning provides

  • 17.00 per hour.
  • W-2 employment.
  • Paid onboarding and job-specific training.
  • Bloodborne-pathogen and assignment-specific safety training when required for a medical facility.
  • Uniform shirt, cleaning supplies, equipment, and required personal protective equipment.
  • Biweekly pay by direct deposit.
  • Earned sick time in accordance with Massachusetts law.
  • A generally consistent schedule after assignment, subject to customer needs and the employee's accepted availability.
  • Same-week interviews and immediate openings for qualified applicants. Minimum requirements
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work the evening schedule accepted at hire.
  • Ability to follow written or demonstrated cleaning, safety, security, and confidentiality instructions.
  • Ability to use a smartphone application for timekeeping and required work reporting.
  • Dependable transportation to the assigned worksite.
  • For multi-site assignments, a valid driver's license and reliable, insured personal vehicle.
  • Ability to remain on your feet throughout the shift and frequently walk, bend, reach, kneel, climb stairs, push a cleaning cart, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work safely around ordinary commercial cleaning products while using the personal protective equipment Anderson Cleaning provides.
  • Ability to handle keys, alarm codes, and customer property responsibly.
