Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, motivated and detail-oriented General Cleaner to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for helping us to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and will be expected to independently complete assigned cleaning tasks daily in a timely fashion. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to develop and grow their cleaning and time management skills. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of surfaces, floors, carpets, and furniture using appropriate cleaning detergents and equipment to ensure optimal sanitation standards. Implement cleaning and sanitation procedures efficiently across different areas, including classrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and office space Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping and carpet cleaning to maintain a pristine appearance. Manage laundry tasks including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or items as needed. Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when moving furniture or large cleaning supplies to prevent injury. Maintain cleanliness of all equipment and supplies, ensuring proper storage and regular maintenance for optimal performance. Communicate professionally with management and teaching staff to understand their specific cleaning needs and provide exceptional customer service. Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents or contamination during cleaning procedures. Experience Previous janitorial or residential cleaning experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with cleaning surfaces, floor care techniques, carpet cleaning methods, and sanitation protocols is essential. Experience using various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, carpet cleaners and laundering machines is preferred Knowledge of cleaning detergents and chemicals along with proper manual handling techniques ensures safe practices. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple areas and spaces This is a job that can begin no earlier than 4pm. There is flexibility to begin later than 4pm as long as the cleaning tasks are completed before 9pm.
