In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of church facilities, ensuring that all areas are pristine, well-organized, and ready for services, events, and daily activities. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to the positive atmosphere of our spiritual home. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all church areas, including sanctuaries, fellowship halls, offices, restrooms, hallways, and entryways using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures to ensure a healthy environment for staff and visitors. Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain high standards of floor care, including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing surfaces. Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces to promote sanitation and hygiene. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential style), and ensuring facilities are in excellent condition for ongoing use. Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries related to heavy lifting or chemical handling. Support special event setups by moving furniture or equipment as needed while adhering to safe manual handling practices. Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial or residential setting with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following safety protocol guidelines and chemical handling safety procedures. Experience operating floor buffers and other cleaning machinery essential for maintaining floor quality. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to sanitation standards and facility maintenance. Strong customer service skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a respectful manner.
