Part-time Grosse Pointe Music Academy is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented cleaner to keep our music school clean, comfortable, and welcoming for students, families, and teachers. This is a recurring part-time position with a consistent schedule. Cleaning will generally take place during evening hours after lessons or at another agreed-upon time when the academy is not busy. Each scheduled visit includes a minimum of three paid hours.
Responsibilities include:
Vacuuming classrooms, hallways, and common areas Spot-cleaning carpets and performing periodic carpet cleaning as needed Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms Emptying trash and replacing liners Dusting and wiping down furniture and surfaces Cleaning mirrors, doors, and high-touch areas Mopping hard floors Tidying the reception and waiting areas Restocking basic restroom and cleaning supplies Notifying management when supplies or repairs are needed Carefully cleaning around musical instruments and electronic equipment
Qualifications:
Dependable and able to maintain a consistent schedule Previous residential, office, school, or commercial cleaning experience preferred Experience using carpet-cleaning equipment preferred Strong attention to detail Able to work independently without direct supervision Reliable transportation Comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds and performing physical cleaning duties Professional and trustworthy Willing to complete a background check Please apply with a brief description of your cleaning experience, general availability, and two professional references.
