Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Church Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our church facilities. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across all church areas, including sanctuaries, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, and carpet cleaners to ensure floors are spotless and well-maintained Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of furniture, equipment, or supplies following safe lifting practices Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs such as painting touch-ups or replacing light bulbs as needed Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents during cleaning or maintenance activities Restock supplies in restrooms and cleaning stations to ensure availability at all times Assist with special event setup and cleanup to support church functions and community events Could include weekends Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial or residential setting is highly preferred Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care, and sanitation procedures Experience handling cleaning chemicals safely and adhering to safety protocol guidelines Ability to perform physical tasks involving manual handling and heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting courteously with staff and congregation members during routine duties Knowledge of facilities maintenance or basic repair work such as painting or minor repairs is advantageous Join us in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where community members can gather in comfort and joy.
