Job Summary:

The Housekeeper/Cleaner position provides a clean and sanitary environment for staff and clients include but are not limited to cleaning and disinfecting rooms, bathrooms, common areas, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing units, cleaning carpets, and replenishing supplies as needed to the units. Housekeepers will promote dignity and respect to clients and complete job duties while working in a team environment practicing good communication and cooperation.

Cleaner Job Responsibilities:

Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and other commercial equipment on a regular basis. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and solutions. Understanding of safety procedures when handling hazardous materials. Basic reading and writing skills to understand instructions and labels. Attention to detail to ensure spaces are thoroughly cleaned. Time management skills to complete all assigned tasks within allotted timeframes. Good communication skills to interact with clients and coworkers. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Cleaning supply inventory management. Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment Ability to work with little supervision and solve problems independently. Keep all common areas, offices, client areas, and various stations clean and meeting MDH code standards. Cleaning restrooms, office spaces, common areas, group areas, kitchens/kitchenettes. Trash & recycling removal. Clean and maintain donation area(s) Clean carpets and take on seasonal/annual cleaning projects as required/needed. Continuous maintenance and improvement of

Cleaner Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 1 Year of cleaning or housekeeping experience in a chemical dependency environment. Experience with commercial cleaning tools Consent to background check and be cleared by DHS to work within a human services program Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and boundaries Ability to adhere to NSR Mission, Vision, and Values Must be free from problematic chemical use including strict adherence to NSR's drug free workplace policy. Comply with all 245G/245I/245F, MN Statute 148F.165, all other governance statutes as applicable & all program policies and procedures including Client Needs, and acknowledge understanding of Client Rights, per MN Rule 31, part 4747.1500.
