This vital role ensures the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our commercial and industrial spaces during overnight hours. As a Swamper/Night Cleaner, you will be responsible for performing thorough cleaning tasks, handling cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely, and maintaining a sanitary environment that meets all safety protocols. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming, hygienic space for staff and visitors alike, supporting our commitment to excellence in facilities maintenance. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across various areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures and maintaining proper storage and disposal practices. Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the facility during night shifts. Operate cleaning machinery efficiently, including floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to ensure optimal results. Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention. Follow all safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and custodial equipment operation. Experience with chemical agent handling safety procedures is highly desirable. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently during overnight hours. Customer service orientation is a plus for interacting with staff or visitors if needed.
