Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our school facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure that all areas meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating a positive atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms by sanitizing fixtures, replenishing supplies, and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Conduct commercial cleaning duties such as window washing, floor care, and surface disinfecting to uphold facility appearance. Use janitorial equipment and cleaning chemicals safely and effectively, following all safety protocols. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure swift resolution and prevent accidents. Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain consistent standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a school or institutional setting is preferred. Proven ability to perform detailed cleaning tasks with efficiency and attention to detail. Must be able to perform physical labor involved in custodial responsibilities including, but not limited to, lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. Black Seal Fireman's License preferred, or must be willing to obtain within 2 years. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established protocols.
