We serve both preschool and after-school students, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for young learners. Most hours are after 6pm weekdays and flexible on the weekends. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Custodian/Light Maintenance team member to keep our learning center and church clean, safe, and well-maintained. This vital role involves performing custodial duties, light maintenance tasks, and ensuring the facility adheres to sanitation and safety standards. Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties throughout the facility, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain a spotless environment. Handle cleaning with various chemical agents safely, following proper chemical handling safety procedures. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums to ensure floors are well cared for and presentable. Conduct light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and troubleshooting basic facility issues to support operational efficiency. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial and maintenance activities to ensure a secure environment for staff and children. Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture or supplies as needed. Support general facilities maintenance to uphold health standards and create a welcoming atmosphere. Skills Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work within commercial or educational settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and proper use of cleaning equipment like floor buffers. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures. Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards staff, children, and visitors. Experience in light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, or basic facilities upkeep, mowing.
