Overview We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to join our facilities maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall hygiene of our commercial and residential spaces. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in all designated areas. Handle and operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums efficiently and safely. Manage the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents used for cleaning and sanitation, adhering strictly to safety protocols. Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or waste materials as needed. Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care procedures to ensure a professional appearance. Restock cleaning supplies and materials while monitoring inventory levels for efficient operations. Follow established safety protocols during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks such as painting touch-ups or basic repairs when required. Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health regulations and sanitation standards. Respond promptly to special cleaning requests or emergencies to support operational needs. Experience Previous janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings preferred. Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and chemical handling safety procedures. Experience with floor care equipment such as buffers and scrubbers is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety protocols related to chemical agents and manual handling practices. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Customer service orientation with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments.
