This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive community environment. Position Overview This position is responsible for the daily janitorial maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate must be in good physical health, capable of managing the physical demands of the role, and possess the ability to self-direct and complete tasks thoroughly and in a timely manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Facility Maintenance:

Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting (furniture, light fixtures, windowsills), and thorough sanitation of restrooms.

Waste Management:

Responsible for the proper collection and disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.

Quality & Standards:

Complete assigned tasks efficiently to ensure facilities consistently meet established organizational cleanliness and safety standards.

Safety & Compliance:

Properly handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and quality control procedures.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate, up-to-date daily records and documentation of all work performed on site.

Operational Productivity:

Maintain assigned work areas and supply closets in a clean, organized manner to facilitate safety and efficiency.

Flexibility:

Follow a daily maintenance routine while remaining adaptable to perform other operational duties as deemed necessary.

Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, and move throughout the duration of the shift.

Lifting Requirements:

Ability to repeatedly lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting or carrying of up to 50 pounds.

Environment:

Ability to comfortably work in environments that may occasionally be damp, dusty, or dirty.

Interpersonal Skills:

Ability or willingness to learn how to communicate and interact effectively and respectfully with staff, visitors, and members of the DD and Deaf communities.

Autonomy:

Strong ability to follow a daily routine independently, recognize areas needing attention, and self-direct tasks to completion.

Equipment Operation:

Ability to safely operate standard cleaning equipment, including vacuums, brooms, and floor care tools. Must complete and pass a state BCI, have a valid driver's license with a reliable driving history. Submit resumes to Stacy Santos at ssantos@corliss.org
