Job Description
Position Summary
As a Plant Janitor, you'll keep our shop, offices, restrooms and outdoor areas clean, safe and well-maintained so our crews can do their best work.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine custodial duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Disinfect high-touch items such as desks, door handles, office tools and phones.
- Empty trash and recycling bins, bag trash for proper disposal, and haul it to compactors and dumpsters.
- Maintain custodial equipment and keep cleaning supplies inventoried and stocked.
- Replace HVAC air filters on schedule.
- Perform minor maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and moving or adjusting furniture.
- Maintain outdoor areas through yard work, debris cleanup and snow removal as needed.
- Follow all site safety rules and wear required PPE.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Need - High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of verifiable work experience.
- Basic math skills (addition and subtraction).
- Ability to follow basic drawings and written work instructions.
- Dependable, punctual and willing to learn.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to do the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: - Stand and walk for long periods with limited breaks.
- Lift up to 75 lbs. and team-lift up to 150 lbs.
- Work outdoors and in extreme temperatures for extended periods.
