Job Summary The American Legion is seeking a dependable, hardworking Part-Time Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility for members, guests, and community events. This position is scheduled for Monday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings. Some prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred, but a strong work ethic and attention to detail are equally important. The Janitor will be responsible for routine cleaning and upkeep of the American Legion facility, including meeting rooms, restrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces. Responsibilities Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors. Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, toilets, and other fixtures. Dust and wipe down furniture, tables, counters, and other surfaces. Empty trash and recycling containers. Clean and maintain common areas and meeting spaces. Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Help prepare the facility for meetings, events, and activities. Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or needed repairs to the appropriate person. Follow proper cleaning procedures and safely use cleaning products and equipment. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Perform other routine cleaning and facility-maintenance duties as assigned. Qualifications Some janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or general cleaning experience preferred. Reliable and punctual. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Good attention to detail. Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform routine cleaning duties. Professional, respectful, and dependable when interacting with members and guests.
