CUSTODIAN

Job Description

The Custodian performs routine and scheduled custodial work to maintain City buildings and facilities in a clean, sanitary, safe, and professional condition. The position is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, maintaining restrooms and common spaces, removing waste, restocking supplies, and assisting with facility setup and readiness. The Custodian works independently to identify areas requiring cleaning or attention and promptly reports maintenance needs, facility damage, safety hazards, or conditions requiring repair to the appropriate personnel. Qualifications:
Experience, Education & Training Requirements
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
High school diploma or GED. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, product labels, and safety procedures. Ability to safely use common custodial tools, cleaning products, and equipment.
Preferred:
One (1) or more years of custodial, janitorial, commercial cleaning, facilities, or related experience. Experience cleaning offices, public buildings, governmental facilities, schools, or other commercial environments. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Texas driver's license required. Must obtain and maintain any safety or equipment certifications required by the City for assigned duties.
