As needed position (PRN). Hours needed to cover vacations or medical leaves. Non-benefit eligible position.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas, according to established policies and procedures and to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital, clinic, and Grant Regional property.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties would include, but not be limited to the following: Provide housekeeping duties within health center, clinics, and GRHC property to include but not limited to: Cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms Cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the health center/clinic and property as assigned Industrial floor care (dusting, mopping, buffing, scrubbing, waxing, shampooing, refinishing, carpet care, etc.) Waste disposal and cleaning of specialized areas of health center/clinic and property Making beds and restocking supply of linens Window washing Working alone or as a team Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy Includes exposure to disagreeable odors, communicable diseases, body fluids, & chemicals including cleaners & sanitizer disinfectants Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must be 16 years or older. Must have familiarity with cleaning products. Previous professional housekeeping or industrial floor care experience preferred. Hospital cleaning experience would be a plus. Applicant should possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the health center staff. Must possess the ability to lift and/or transfer a minimum of 50#; manual dexterity; good balance and hand-eye coordination; frequent bending, kneeling & reaching; ability to work off a ladder; and self-motivation necessary. Basic computer knowledge a must.
