This position is at BridgeValley South Charleston. The starting pay is $10.50 an hour. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 10pm and Fridays from 12pm to 8pm. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across various areas of the facility. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to uphold cleanliness standards. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and scrubbers to maintain floors and surfaces. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning and sanitation processes, adhering strictly to safety protocols. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, and equipment following safe lifting practices. Maintain sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas through thorough cleaning and disinfecting. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to support overall building upkeep. Follow safety procedures diligently to ensure a hazard-free environment for yourself and colleagues. Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow chemical handling safety procedures. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary. Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices, floor care techniques including buffing and floor maintenance. Ability to adhere to safety protocols consistently while performing cleaning duties.
