Night Shift Role Summary The Surgical Services Environmental Services Technician ensures a safe, sanitary, and compliant surgical environment by performing critical cleaning and disinfection of operating rooms, procedure rooms, sterile processing areas, and perioperative spaces. This role directly supports infection prevention and patient safety. Key Responsibilities OR & Procedural Area Cleaning — Perform nightly, terminal, enhanced, and scheduled cleaning of ORs, procedure rooms, and sterile processing areas. Equipment & Surface Disinfection — Clean and disinfect surgical equipment, patient care devices, high‑touch surfaces, and environmental surfaces using approved agents and IFUs. Waste & Linen Management — Safely remove and dispose of regulated medical waste, contaminated materials, and soiled linens. Infection Prevention Compliance — Follow Standard and Transmission‑Based Precautions, PPE requirements, and all OSHA, CDC, AORN, Joint Commission, and facility policies. Area Inspection & Documentation — Document cleaning activities and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or maintenance concerns. Team Collaboration — Work professionally with Surgical Services, Sterile Processing, Nursing, and Environmental Services teams. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Six months experience in housekeeping, environmental services, janitorial, hospitality, or healthcare support Completion of required infection prevention and safety training during orientation Preferred Qualifications One year experience in hospital, surgical services, sterile processing, ambulatory surgery, or critical care environments CHEST or related healthcare environmental services certification Coursework in environmental services, infection prevention, or sterile processing Core Competencies Infection Prevention Knowledge and safe use of cleaning chemicals Ability to follow written procedures and IFUs Strong attention to detail and professionalism Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and perform repetitive motions Ability to wear PPE for extended periods

Pay:

$16.88 - $19.41 per hour
