In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service, with experience in culinary preparation, sales, and customer interaction. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the deli's reputation for quality and service. Duties Prepare a variety of deli items including sandwiches, salads, and other food products in accordance with food safety standards. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for efficient transaction processing. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and offering recommendations to enhance their experience. Upsell products to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours in a quick-service environment. Qualifications Previous experience in the food industry or a similar role within a quick-service or fast-food restaurant is preferred. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling practices. Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy periods. Familiarity with retail math and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude towards customers and coworkers. Knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety regulations is essential. Experience with serving customers in a café or grocery store setting is a plus.
